Most people using ChatGPT or Claude at work are using a fraction of what these tools now do, and not for lack of skill: the products have moved faster than anyone’s working habits. Projects, skills, connectors, scheduled tasks, agents, browser control and design systems are all relatively new, and most people have never seen them demonstrated on real work. This day does that.
Live demonstrations, not slides
Everything is demonstrated live, using real documents and real tasks. You’ll see the work being done in front of you rather than described, and get a clear view of how these tools behave when they’re used properly. It isn’t a lab: you don’t need a laptop or to work through exercises yourself, but you’ll see exactly how the work gets done, at a pace you can follow. Afterwards, the interactive notes take you back through each demonstration step by step, in ChatGPT or Claude, so you can do it yourself on your own work.
Taught across both platforms
Whether you use ChatGPT or Claude, this course is for you. The two platforms now work in much the same way, and almost everything shown applies to both. The day moves between them rather than running every demonstration twice, and the few differences that matter are pointed out along the way.
If your organisation uses Microsoft Copilot, most of this course still applies. Copilot sits on the same underlying models as ChatGPT and Claude, packages them differently, and the core ways of working carry over. The demonstrations aren’t run in Copilot, but the methods are the same.
Program topics
Putting it together
Hand over a whole workflow
A recurring piece of work, run start to finish: the AI picks up the trigger, gathers what it needs, does the work and files the result, with you reviewing before anything goes out. Shown on a real example, such as an enquiry turned into a tailored proposal, but the same approach applies to any multi-step process you repeat. This is what an AI agent actually is: not a single product, but parts assembled with the right limits, each covered through the day.
Respond to an RFP or tender
A full worked example, from the tender documents to a draft response.
The tools
Teach the tool your method
Both platforms call these skills. Capture a recurring task once, including your format, your review steps and your tone of voice, and have it followed the same way every time.
Connect your email, calendar and files
Connectors bring the tools you already use into the work, so the AI draws on your real information rather than whatever you paste in.
Set work to run on its own timetable
Scheduled tasks run while you get on with other things, such as a morning briefing, a weekly summary or a regular check.
Work directly from your own files
What the desktop apps do that the browser can’t. Projects connected to the folders on your computer rather than uploads, and managing what a project remembers over time.
Hand over the clicking
Browser control and computer use let the AI work your browser and desktop apps for you. Not as a novelty, but to get through complicated settings, forms and admin you’d otherwise have to work out yourself.
What you make and what it costs
Build pages and tools you can share
Web pages, dashboards and interactive tools you can send as a link, plus documents and decks in the formats the work needs.
Make it look like your organisation
A design system built from your brand, so what you produce looks like it came from you.
Understand what it costs
How billing works: the subscription that gets you in, the usage limits, and when stronger models, longer thinking or heavier use cost more. Where cutting back is a false economy, and the difference between using the apps and connecting directly to the models through the API.
Prerequisites and access
No formal prerequisites. It suits people already using ChatGPT or Claude regularly, or who’ve done ChatGPT and Claude at work. A paid ChatGPT or Claude licence is strongly recommended: either is fine, and most of what’s covered assumes paid access. Without one you’ll follow the day, but much of it won’t be available to you afterwards. Some ChatGPT features, including skills and connected tools, are only available on business and enterprise plans.
Bringing a laptop is optional: this is a demonstration-led session, not a hands-on lab. The program is updated regularly as the platforms change.
Pair it with the core day
This course stands on its own, and opens with a short recap so you can start here. It also works as the second half of a two-day sequence with ChatGPT and Claude at work. That day covers how the tools work, how to use them soundly and the first things worth building: projects, interactive tools and research. This one takes those further and adds the tools and workflows.
If your team writes tenders, grant applications or proposals, I also run an in-house workshop built around your own submissions: AI for tenders, grants and proposals.
A 20% discount applies when booking two or more courses, or for two or more people. Many organisations treat the two courses as parts of a single learning program.

FAQ
About the AI courses
Which AI tools do you cover?
Mainly ChatGPT and Claude. The day moves between the two, and most of the methods work the same way in both.
Our organisation uses Microsoft Copilot. Is the course still relevant?
Yes. Copilot is built on the same underlying AI models as ChatGPT and Claude. The demonstrations aren't run in Copilot, but the methods carry over.
Which course should I start with?
If you're new to ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot, or you use them and have never been shown how they actually work, start with ChatGPT and Claude at work. If you already use them most days and want the tools and workflows you're not using yet, go straight to Advanced ChatGPT and Claude at work. Many people do both, and the 20% two-course discount applies. Not sure? The course finder will point you to the right one in two minutes.
What do I take away afterwards?
The full presentation and a set of interactive notes. The notes cover every demonstration from the day, with the prompt behind it ready to copy and step-by-step instructions you can switch between ChatGPT and Claude. They also link to interactive examples I've built. People tell me the notes are the part they keep coming back to. You can see a sample of the notes.
Won't the content be out of date quickly?
The program is updated regularly as the platforms change, so you see the tools as they are now.
Do I need a paid ChatGPT or Claude account?
Not for the course itself. To use much of what's demonstrated afterwards, you'll need a paid plan.

Where are the full booking terms?
Course suitability
Are net101 courses any good?
Yes. I would say that, of course, so here's what it rests on. I've run about 255 workshops and talks since late 2022, and Vistage named me Speaker of the Year in 2024. Everything is demonstrated live on real documents, including where the tools fall short. And you leave with the full presentation and a set of interactive notes to keep working through with ChatGPT or Claude. People tell me the notes are the bit they keep coming back to.
Who attends net101 courses?
Managers, professionals and business owners who want to use AI properly in their everyday work, from occasional users to people who use it daily.
Is net101 a registered training organisation (RTO)?
No. net101 courses are professional development, not nationally recognised qualifications.
Can you run a workshop for our team?
Yes. Half-day or full-day, onsite or virtual, and built around your organisation's own documents and work. See Team learning.
Face-to-face courses
Where are courses held?
In professional corporate training venues around Australia. The venue for each course is on its course page.
What time does the course run?
Courses usually run from 9:00am to 4:30pm. Check the course page for the exact times.
Is lunch provided? What about dietary requirements?
Yes. Tea and coffee are provided, and lunch is covered. Depending on the venue, lunch is ordered in, or I book a table at a nearby restaurant so everyone has lunch together, or you're given an allowance to buy your own nearby, so you can choose something that suits you.
Do I need to bring a laptop?
No. The day is live demonstrations, not a hands-on lab. You're welcome to bring a laptop or other device to use in the background. There's wifi, but I can't guarantee access to a power point, so come charged or bring your cord.
What should I wear?
Whatever you'd wear to the office. Training rooms can run cold, so bring a layer.

What participants thought
Finally, an AI course that explains things in plain English.
The quality of the venue was outstanding. Comfortable room, great catering and easy to get to. Add Tim’s informative, entertaining style and it was a thoroughly enjoyable day.
Loved being able to ask what were probably very basic questions without feeling silly. Tim was patient and explained everything clearly.
