AI for tenders, grants and proposals

Get more of the big ones over the line

Tenders, grant applications and responses to requests for proposal are worth a lot of money, and the work behind them is heavy. There are long guidelines, strict criteria, evidence scattered across the organisation and a deadline that doesn't move. AI is very good at this work when it's used properly, and unreliable when it isn't.

In this workshop, I take your team through the workflow I use for a submission, start to finish, on one of your own. You get two things from the day: a real submission moved forward, and a team that knows the technique well enough to do the next one themselves.

What the workflow covers

It follows the seven steps I teach in my advanced course: intent, clarify, gather, test, draft, validate and output. In practice, that means:

  • reading the guidelines and criteria properly
  • pulling the right evidence from past submissions and your own documents
  • drafting answers in your organisation's voice
  • checking every answer against what the assessors asked for before it goes in

Who it suits

Not-for-profits applying for government grants, councils applying for state and federal funding, and businesses responding to tenders and requests for proposal. In short, any team whose submissions are worth landing properly.

How it runs

Half day or full day, at your office or by livestream. Half days are for Melbourne metro and inner regional Victoria only. Before the day, send me a past submission, the guidelines for one you're working on, and the documents you usually draw evidence from. Demonstrations are in ChatGPT and Claude, and what your team learns carries to Copilot. Afterwards, everyone gets the full presentation and the interactive notes.

FAQ

Tenders, grants and proposals

Do we need a live submission?

No. A past one works well. A live one gets the most out of the day.

Can AI write the whole submission?

No, and you wouldn't want it to. It does the heavy lifting on reading, organising, drafting and checking. The judgment calls stay with your team.

Is this in your public course?

Yes, it's part of Advanced ChatGPT and Claude at work. The workshop goes deeper, on your own submissions, with your whole team.

What participants thought

Tim made a topic I’d been avoiding feel surprisingly manageable. Informative, funny and very easy to follow.
Honestly didn’t expect to laugh this much at a training course. Learned heaps too!
Our team arrived with very different levels of experience, but we all got something out of the day. I particularly liked seeing real documents used in the demonstrations. It made it much easier to picture how we could use AI in our own work.
