Why this matters at board level
These tools are already being used across most organisations, often unevenly, sometimes well, sometimes not. Board members don't need to become AI experts. But a first-hand understanding of what the tools can and can't do changes the quality of every conversation about them: with the executive team, with the risk function, with each other.
This session gives you that understanding in half a day, without frameworks or jargon.
What the session covers
How current AI tools work in practical terms, and why that matters for the questions boards need to ask. The risks that matter most: output that is fabricated or misleading but looks confident; bias and hidden assumptions; privacy, confidentiality and data handling; over-reliance without human review; uneven adoption across the organisation; and the cost of doing too little, too slowly.
The centrepiece is live demonstration. Rather than talking about AI from a distance, Tim shows how the tools behave in realistic business scenarios, how errors emerge and what better use looks like. Seeing the tools work, and fail, builds understanding faster than any briefing deck.
What your board gets
A practical feel for what ChatGPT and Claude can and can't do. A sharper sense of where AI-related risk is likely to show up. A clearer picture of what good use looks like, and what to watch for when it isn't. More common ground when AI comes up in board discussion.

Questions people ask
Is this a workshop or a briefing?
A briefing with live demonstration. Directors watch the tools work on realistic material and ask questions. Nobody needs a laptop.
Can it be part of a board retreat or strategy day?
Yes. A half-day session fits well into a retreat agenda, and it tends to improve the strategy conversation that follows.
Our executive team should probably hear it too.
Running the board and executive team together is common and works well. It gives both groups the same reference points.
Does it cover our organisation's own AI use?
If you send a short brief and a few examples of how AI is being used (or not) across the organisation, Tim builds that in. The session is better for it.

We regularly schedule Tim to run half-day workshops for our business forum to update us on the latest developments in business technologies. The forum is comprised of owners and CEO’s of both local SMEs and international subsidiaries. Tim’s deep knowledge of the segment and his easy presentation style make these sessions highly engaging.
