Current topic: AI and the capability gap

Tim’s current Vistage topic focuses on what he describes as the “capability gap”.

This is the gap between what leaders know modern AI systems can do and what they, or their teams, can actually execute in practice.

Most organisations are now aware that tools like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini are highly capable. The issue is not awareness. It is application. Day-to-day use tends to sit well below what the tools are capable of, which limits the value being realised.

Tim’s sessions are designed to help close that gap. Not through theory or abstract discussion, but by showing what effective use looks like in real time.

Style and approach

Sessions are built around live, demonstration-based delivery.

Rather than describing what AI can do, Tim shows it — working through realistic business tasks in front of the room, including both strong and imperfect outputs and how to evaluate them.

The tone is direct, commercially focused and grounded in how these tools are used in day-to-day work. Sessions are also known for being engaging and entertaining, without losing focus on substance.

Ongoing involvement

Tim remains an active speaker on the Vistage circuit, continuing to work with CEO and executive groups across a range of industries.

His sessions consistently receive strong ratings, driven by relevance, clarity and practical value.
