Managing AI Risk in the Workplace is a practical program for business owners and executives who are already using AI platforms like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini — and now want to roll them out properly across the organisation.

It focuses on what actually goes wrong in day-to-day use (confident mistakes, made-up details, one-sided answers, and people trusting the output too quickly) and what to do about it. You’ll learn simple, repeatable ways to check and improve AI output, protect confidential information, and set clear team rules so AI use is safe, consistent and genuinely useful — not risky, uneven, or hard to manage.

Program topics

Everyday failure modes: what goes wrong at the desk
The common problems people run into with AI platforms at work: confident errors, invented “facts”, shallow reasoning, bias, and over-trust.

Practical checks and safeguards: how to make AI more reliable
Straightforward controls that fit real workflows: review steps, source checks, checking numbers and claims, when to slow down, and simple “quality checks” that lift reliability without slowing everyone down.

Data, privacy and IP: what to share and what not to
Clear rules of thumb for handling confidential or client material, common everyday slip-ups, and practical guidance on copyright and IP risks in AI-assisted writing, summaries and reuse.

Quality and brand: avoiding generic AI output
How to stop work becoming bland and samey as AI use increases: keeping the right voice and tone, using examples and style guides, iterating properly, and defining what “good enough” looks like.

Adoption and capability risk: what happens inside teams over time
Why AI rollouts stall (hesitation, resistance, quiet “shadow use”) and how to fix it. Tim also covers capability drift — relying on AI too much, letting first drafts become the standard, and how uneven practices can widen performance gaps across a team.

Responsible use: what it looks like in practice
Practical expectations for responsible use: accountability, transparency norms, content safety boundaries, and a sensible view of broader impacts.

Why this matters

AI platforms are already being used in most workplaces — even if it’s not official. The real risk usually isn’t one dramatic incident; it’s a steady build-up of smaller issues: people acting on shaky output, accidental oversharing, quality slipping, and inconsistent use across teams.

This program helps you get ahead of that. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of the risk landscape, plus practical mitigation habits and team norms you can apply immediately — so you can scale AI use with confidence, protect the business, and get better adoption and outcomes.
