About net101

I’m Tim Martin, founder of net101. Since late 2022, I’ve specialised in the practical business use of generative AI.

Today, most of my work centres on in-house corporate workshops. I work directly with teams, leaders and organisations to help them use tools like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini more effectively in the context of their actual roles, workflows and decisions. Alongside that, I also deliver keynote and guest speaking sessions, and run public courses for individuals and small groups who want practical, high-value training.

Practical by design

My focus is always on application.

I run live demonstration-based sessions built around the kinds of tasks people are actually dealing with at work — drafting, analysis, research, planning, communication, synthesis and decision support.

Rather than teaching AI in the abstract, I show what current models can do, where they are genuinely useful, where they need checking and how they can be applied in ways that improve speed, quality and confidence.

Built for real organisational context

Generic training only goes so far.

A large part of my work involves designing and delivering workshops for organisations that want something more relevant than a standard AI session. Where appropriate, I use the organisation’s own materials — such as reports, templates, policies and workflow examples — so the learning is grounded in the real context people work in every day.

That makes the training more relevant, more credible and more likely to transfer into actual practice.

Beyond the demo

Most organisations do not need more AI excitement. They need a clearer path from interest to adoption.

The real challenge is not just showing people what the tools can do. It is helping teams build sensible usage habits, stronger verification practices and a more grounded understanding of where AI fits inside real workflows.

That is where lasting value comes from.

How I work

Through net101, I work across three main areas: in-house corporate workshops, keynote and guest speaking, and public AI courses.

The workshops are the core of the business and where I spend most of my time. That work ranges from practical team sessions through to executive groups, leadership cohorts and broader capability-building programs.

Alongside that, I deliver keynote presentations and guest speaking sessions for conferences, member networks and leadership events. I also run public courses for people who want to build their skills in an open-enrolment format.

Who I work with

I work with frontline teams, managers, senior executives and boards across a wide range of sectors.

Some organisations bring me in to lift day-to-day productivity. Others want to improve decision quality, build stronger internal capability or help leaders respond more clearly to the practical implications of AI.

In each case, the goal is the same: to help people use generative AI in a way that is useful, well judged and grounded in real work.
