I've spoken to TEC (The Executive Connection) groups since 2006, and kept going when TEC became Vistage a few years ago. The topic was business technology then and is AI now. That's more than 350 sessions with CEO and executive groups across Australia, about 255 of them on AI since late 2022. In 2024 I was named Vistage Speaker of the Year.
Current topic: AI and the capability gap
Most leaders now know what ChatGPT and Claude can do. Far fewer get that out of them at work, and the same goes for their teams. That gap between what the tools can do and what people actually do with them is where the value goes missing.
I don't talk about what AI might do. I show what good use looks like, live, on realistic business tasks.
How the session runs
I work through the tasks in front of the group, including the outputs that come back wrong, and show how to tell the difference. It's direct, commercially focused and grounded in everyday work.
Afterwards everyone gets the full presentation and a set of interactive notes built to keep working through with ChatGPT or Claude. People tell me the notes are the bit they keep coming back to.
