Claude is emerging as a serious workplace alternative to ChatGPT, and in many organisations is being explored alongside it or Microsoft Copilot. Interest is growing, but adoption is still early. Most people are testing it or comparing it with other tools without a clear sense of how to get consistently strong results.
This course is for people who want to use Claude more effectively at work — whether they're already using it or assessing it more seriously as an alternative or complement to other models. It focuses on producing better results, working more efficiently and building real confidence using the platform in practical professional settings.
Pair this with a foundational course
This course can be taken as a standalone program, but it also works well alongside Foundations of AI at Work as part of a two-course sequence. Together, the two courses provide a practical progression from general AI understanding into more advanced professional use.
When both courses are booked, a 20% discount applies to each course. Many organisations treat the two courses as parts of a single learning program.
Prerequisites and access requirements
There are no formal prerequisites, but participants will need a paid Claude licence to get full value from the session. Bringing a laptop or device is optional. Participants are welcome to explore parts of the session on their own machine, but the course is not designed as a hands-on lab or built around live follow-along participation.
Program topics
Interface, models and working styles
How to navigate Claude more confidently and make better decisions about how to approach different types of work.
Working with your material
Using uploads, project knowledge and better context to produce outputs that are more relevant, grounded and useful in your own business setting. Claude supports uploads in chat and within Projects, and Projects can work with their own knowledge base.
Iterative workflows
Refining outputs, testing alternatives and improving quality through more deliberate back-and-forth workflows rather than relying on one-shot prompting.
Research, validation and connected information
Using Claude more effectively for research, cross-checking and synthesis, and understanding how connected tools and external information can strengthen the work.
Projects and longer-running work
Structuring ongoing work more effectively, building better continuity and supporting repeated tasks with stronger context over time. Anthropic describes Projects as self-contained workspaces with their own instructions, chat history and knowledge base.
Claude Desktop, Cowork and practical workflow advantages
Understanding where Claude Desktop can add real value, particularly when working with local files, connected tools and more substantial multi-step tasks through Cowork. Anthropic positions Claude Desktop as the place where local desktop extensions, local file access and Cowork come together for more capable workflows.
Artifacts and advanced output creation
Using Claude to create, refine and present more substantial outputs, including working material, decision tools, visual content and presentation-ready artefacts. Anthropic presents Artifacts as a dedicated workspace for substantial outputs and interactive content.
Building tools without code
Creating calculators, internal tools, structured decision aids and lightweight workflow assets using natural language.
Business-ready deliverables
Producing outputs in the formats that matter in practice, including documents, presentations, spreadsheets, PDFs and other polished deliverables. Claude can create and edit Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets and PDFs directly in chat.
More capable workflows in Claude
A practical look at the features and working methods that support more substantial, connected and higher-value work.
The course is updated over time as new capabilities and features emerge. It does not cover Claude Code or developer tooling.
